Not fitting in doesn’t mean that you remain in your comfort zone. Very often I step outside the safe box that is myself and do things that absolutely terrify me – walking into a roomful of strangers, saying hello to a beautiful man, trying to say a phrase in a language that isn’t English. Writing things down is much easier but context can be lost. The brave face, the thin mask of normalcy shields anxiety. My passion exposes my vulnerabilities to reckless words of the unwise, the righteous and the impatient. I should give less of myself but this my laughter will not be contained.
